Description

The fishings are divided into five main beats (allowing 2 salmon rods/beat), and two shorter beats.The beats are centred on the Bridge of Keig, where the B992 public road crosses the river Don. The fishings extend to some two miles of double bank upstream, and 1.5 miles double bank downstream, with a further 1 mile of single (left) bank only downstream below the double bank stretch. There are over 20 named pools. As a guide the average width of the Don which is relevant to the fishings is around thirty yards.

There is no meaningful catch data for Brown Trout most of which are returned by anglers. April, May and June are the months when the Brown Trout fishing is most successful.
